RTX 5080 ProArt is ASUS’ most stylish compact GPU yet

ASUS reveals its new RTX 5080 ProArt, featuring wood accents and USB Type-C

ASUS has continuously embraced unique designs for many of its RTX 50 series graphics cards. They've introduced a Doom-themed RTX 5080, sure to delight any enthusiast of the franchise. Taking it a step further, ASUS has unveiled the ROG Astral Dhahab Edition, a RTX 5080 that features actual gold. Now, the company is rolling out another attractive design for its ProArt series of GPUs, though this one is more subtle.

The ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 will showcase a laminate trim with a dark brown wood grain pattern, making it a fitting choice for those with a wood-themed setup. However, the aesthetic will complement virtually any system. Ultimately, it provides a great option for those seeking a visually appealing GPU without the distraction of excessive RGB lighting.

ASUS has designed this graphics card to be Nvidia SFF compatible, preparing it for ultra-compact builds. The GPU also employs ASUS’ proprietary “MaxContact” cooling technology, featuring a vapor chamber that cools the VRAM and graphics core efficiently. To ensure optimal cooling, the GPU is equipped with three fans and has a thickness of 2.5 slots. This makes it particularly suitable for professional configurations, where additional add-on cards are more common. It’s important to note that this GPU uses a Phase-Change thermal solution instead of conventional thermal paste.

As these cards target professional users, the technical specifications are just as crucial as the design. They offer the standard HDMI and DisplayPort options, along with a USB Type-C port. This port can be utilized to connect to one monitor or multiple monitors via daisy-chaining. Frankly, this is one of the most visually appealing RTX 5080 GPUs ASUS has ever created. Its compact form factor also makes it perfect for users who employ add-on cards.

Two versions will be available: a Standard Edition with a base clock speed of 2617 MHz and an OC mode that reaches 2640 MHz, and an OC Edition boasting a default clock of 2700 MHz with an OC mode maxing out at 2730 MHz. Both models will be equipped with 16GB of DDR7 RAM. For those in AI development, the Standard Edition provides 1801 TOPs, while the OC Edition can deliver 1858 TOPs.

The introduction of the ASUS ProArt RTX 5080 presents a sleek design tailored for creators, matching NVIDIA’s latest high-performance capabilities. Yet beneath its minimalist exterior lies what truly counts: the impressive power of the RTX 5080. Whether you’re rendering detailed scenes, achieving high frame rates in demanding games, or preparing for AI-enhanced tasks, it’s the RTX 5080 that takes on the arduous workload.
