BeastLink Officially Announces Early Access Launch Date
BeastLink is no longer just an ambitious project on paper. Grove Street Games has officially confirmed that its multiplayer action game will launch in Early Access on Steam on August 18, marking a major milestone after months of community playtests and feedback. It will also be the first opportunity for players to experience a more complete version of the post-apocalyptic world the studio has been building.
A world where humans and Kaiju fight for survival
Set in a post-apocalyptic future built around the tagline "The world didn't end. It evolved.", BeastLink takes players to a world where colossal creatures have become the dominant force. As humanity struggles to survive, players won't just fight against these massive Beasts. Instead, they can harness their power through a special resource called Serum, unlocking the ability to Link with them and transform into powerful Kaiju themselves.
Rather than focusing solely on giant monster battles, BeastLink is designed as a layered multiplayer battlefield where players can adapt their strategy as each match unfolds.
According to Grove Street Games, some of the game's key features include:
- Battles supporting up to 24 players during Early Access.
- Collecting Serum to activate the Link system, allowing players to transform from humans into powerful Beasts with unique abilities and combat styles.
- Piloting military vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, and aircraft, to gain an advantage in battle.
- Taking part in both PvP and PvE modes across large-scale maps.
- A large-scale environmental destruction system where collapsing buildings can reshape the battlefield in real time.
One of the features Grove Street Games has highlighted the most is the game's destruction system. Rather than serving as visual spectacle alone, destroyed structures can create new paths, alter the terrain, and force both sides to quickly adapt as the battlefield constantly changes throughout a match.
To prepare for its Early Access launch, BeastLink has already gone through multiple Playtests and Beta sessions. According to the developers, community feedback has helped improve performance, fine-tune Beast combat, and better balance the overall gameplay experience before opening the game to a wider audience.
When Early Access launches, players can expect three maps, four playable Beasts, a variety of weapons and vehicles, PvP and PvE modes, as well as the first story missions that introduce the game's world. The game will also include offline content, giving players a chance to learn its mechanics before jumping into online battles.
However, Grove Street Games has made it clear that this is only the beginning of BeastLink's journey. The studio has already shared its plans to continue expanding the game throughout Early Access with a steady stream of new content.
According to the current roadmap, players can look forward to:
- Additional Beasts, each featuring new abilities and distinct combat styles.
- More maps, game modes, weapons, and vehicles added through future updates.
- An expanded story campaign, with roughly 10 Story Missions planned for Version 1.0.
- Larger battles, increasing the player count from 24 to 32 once the game reaches the desired level of stability.
- Ongoing performance improvements and gameplay balancing based on community feedback throughout the Early Access period.
By combining multiplayer shooter gameplay, the ability to transform into Kaiju, and a battlefield that constantly evolves through large-scale destruction, BeastLink has the potential to become a standout title for fans of large-scale online action games. Players won't have to wait much longer to see whether Grove Street Games can deliver on that vision when the game officially enters Early Access on Steam on August 18.
