The beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has wrapped up recently, leaving fans buzzing, but also asking tough questions. With the official release coming on November 14, 2025, early impressions could make or break the hype. Yet, with Battlefield 6 dominating player numbers and viewership, Black Ops 7 faces one of the stiffest challenges the franchise has seen in years.

Highlights from the Beta

Activision came out swinging with new anti-cheat measures. Ricochet reportedly kept nearly 98% of matches cheater-free, and on PC, mandatory TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot helped tighten security. For longtime fans frustrated by hacks in previous Call of Duty games, this was a welcome reassurance. Content-wise, the beta didn't disappoint. Players got a mix of 6v6 multiplayer maps, zombie survival modes with upgradable vehicles, and a variety of operators and weapons. The unified progression system also made leveling up feel rewarding and seamless. Plus, new traversal moves and fast-paced combat kept the action fresh and exciting.

 

 

However, even with these improvements, some cracks showed. Player engagement lagged behind expectations, particularly compared to Battlefield 6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 peaked at under 75,000 concurrent players on Steam, while its main competitor saw over 335,000. Twitch numbers reflected a similar trend: 185,000 viewers versus Battlefield 6’s 500,000+.

Community feedback was mixed. While traversal and weapon design received praise, critics noted that map design felt familiar, kill times were fast, and skill-based matchmaking sometimes felt punishing. Fans are hoping Activision addresses these concerns before launch.

 

The Battlefield 6 factor

Battlefield 6 has set a high bar. Its beta shattered records, boasting massive player counts and more than 92 million hours logged. By returning to large-scale maps, squad-based tactics, vehicle combat, and destructible environments, EA's game has clearly struck a chord with players seeking immersive, tactical battles.

The two games offer very different experiences. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 thrives on fast, tight gameplay and instant engagement, Battlefield 6 focuses on sprawling maps, slower pacing, and strategic team play. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will need to lean into its intense action, diverse operators, and enhanced Zombies mode to avoid being overshadowed.

 

 

The beta shows that Black Ops 7 has solid foundations, but Activision can't rest on legacy alone. Fixing balance issues, improving map variety, and keeping matches cheat-free will be critical to maintaining excitement.

Me tardé un tiempo en reseñar el juego, pero tengo una opinión bastante sólida al respecto: Soy jugador de FPS y he jugado casi todos. Soy de la época dorada de Call of Duty (MW3, BO2) y me decepcionaron los juegos más recientes, pero este está bien. Personalmente, no me gusta mucho la temática futurista, pero este juego no es demasiado exagerado. Las mecánicas de salto y deslizamiento en las paredes no se usan con frecuencia. A quienes les guste el multijugador de Call of Duty disfrutarán del juego, especialmente si les gustó BO6. Todavía no he jugado la campaña ni el modo zombis, pero lo que he notado es que es un juego muy pulido (funciona mucho mejor que BF6) y sí, también me gusta Battlefield, no soy un fanático acérrimo de Call of Duty. Finalmente, les sugiero lo obvio: cómpralo, pruébalo y, si quieres, pide un reembolso para comprar otro juego.
It took me a while to review the game, but I have a pretty solid opinion about it: I'm an FPS gamer and I've played almost all of them. I'm from the golden age of Call of Duty (MW3, BO2) and was disappointed by the more recent games, but this one is okay.Personally, I don't really like the futuristic theme, but this game isn't too over the top. The jumping and wall-sliding mechanics are not used often.Those who like Call of Duty multiplayer will enjoy the game, especially if they liked BO6.I haven't played the campaign or zombie mode yet, but what I have noticed is that it is a very polished game (runs much better than BF6) and yes, I like Battlefield too, I'm not a diehard Call of Duty fan.Finally, I suggest the obvious: buy it, try it, and if you want, ask for a refund to buy another game.

La bêta de Black Ops 7 a été très prometteuse. Le gameplay est plus fluide, les tirs précis et les déplacements dynamiques. Le mode Zombies se démarque avec des cartes immersives et une coopération renforcée, tandis que le multijoueur bénéficie d’un système de progression unifié. Quelques défauts subsistent, comme l’équilibrage des armes, le matchmaking et l’optimisation sur PC. Malgré tout, le jeu montre un vrai potentiel et pourrait devenir un des meilleurs opus de la série.

Zombies mode stands out with immersive maps and enhanced cooperation, while multiplayer benefits from a unified progression system. El sistema de progresión unificado es uno de los puntos más fuertes del nuevo Black Ops. Subir de nivel resulta gratificante y motiva a jugar más horas. Sin embargo, los mapas multijugador se sienten repetitivos y no aportan suficientes novedades. Tal vez con la versión final veamos una mayor variedad y algo de innovación en el diseño de escenarios, que es fundamental para no aburrirse.
The unified progression system is one of the strongest points of the new Black Ops. Leveling up is rewarding and motivates you to play for more hours. However, the multiplayer maps feel repetitive and don't bring enough new features. Perhaps with the final version we will see more variety and some innovation in the design of scenarios, which is essential to avoid getting bored.

Após algumas horas com a beta de Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, estou bastante satisfeito. O jogo recuperou um dinamismo que a franquia tinha perdido um pouco, e isso nota-se imediatamente no ritmo das partidas. A movimentação é mais natural, os tiroteios são impactantes e temos finalmente a sensação de que cada ação conta. Os mapas da beta são variados e bem desenhados, mesmo que algumas áreas incentivem demasiado o campismo. O modo Zombies, por outro lado, oferece uma atmosfera mais sombria e uma jogabilidade mais clara, o que dá vontade de jogar ronda após ronda. Obviamente, ainda há áreas a melhorar: o balanceamento de armas ainda é caótico e alguns problemas de ligação ocasionalmente perturbam a partida, mas nada de alarmante. No geral, BO7 parece ter começado bem. Se os produtores otimizarem tudo e corrigirem os excessos, poderemos ter um dos melhores jogos da série nos últimos anos
After a few hours with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta, I'm very satisfied. The game has regained a dynamism that the franchise had lost a little, and this is immediately noticeable in the pace of the matches. The movement is more natural, the gunfights are impactful and we finally have the feeling that every action counts. The beta maps are varied and well-designed, even if some areas encourage camping too much. Zombies mode, on the other hand, offers a darker atmosphere and clearer gameplay, which makes you want to play round after round. Obviously, there are still areas for improvement: the weapon balancing is still chaotic and some connection problems occasionally disrupt the game, but nothing alarming. Overall, BO7 seems to be off to a good start. If the producers optimize everything and correct the excesses, we could have one of the best games in the series in recent years

La beta de Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 me dejó una impresión bastante positiva. Es evidente que Treyarch busca modernizar la fórmula sin alterar su esencia. La jugabilidad es rápida y fluida, y la mayor capacidad de respuesta en los movimientos ofrece una experiencia realmente disfrutable. Los mapas están muy bien diseñados, con un estilo coherente que favorece tanto el combate a corta distancia como las estrategias más elaboradas. El modo Zombis, por su parte, regresa con una atmósfera pulida y un ritmo mejor controlado, lo cual se agradece tras algunas entregas más caóticas. Por supuesto, aún hay margen de mejora: algunas armas parecen demasiado poderosas y el tiempo para matar podría estar mejor equilibrado para evitar eliminaciones frustrantes. En el aspecto técnico, se observan algunos fallos visuales y cierta latencia ocasional. A pesar de estos defectos, la beta sugiere una sólida entrega de la saga

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 trae mejoras interesantes en los sistemas antitrampas, lo cual ha hecho que las partidas sean mucho más limpias y competitivas. Aun así, me decepcionó que los jugadores simultáneos en la beta fueran tan pocos. Si Activision no trabaja en aumentar el atractivo antes del lanzamiento, podría quedarse atrás frente a competidores como Battlefield 6, que parecen captar mucho mejor la atención de los jugadores.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings interesting improvements to the anti-cheating systems, which has made the games much cleaner and more competitive. Still, I was disappointed that simultaneous players in the beta were so few. Cette version bêta impressionne par la sécurité renforcée, mais le manque de variété dans les cartes se fait sentir après plusieurs heures de jeu. Même si l’action rapide plaira à certains, il faudrait plus d’innovation pour rivaliser avec la concurrence et attirer davantage de nouveaux joueurs .

La beta de Black Ops 7 ofrece partidas muy intensas que sorprenden gracias a los nuevos movimientos y al sistema de progresión. Sin embargo, los mapas se sienten ya vistos y el matchmaking por habilidad resulta frustrante a veces. Si pulen estos detalles, puede ser el mejor Call of Duty de la última década, pero aún queda trabajo por hacer .

Dopo aver provato la beta di Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, devo dire che l'esperienza mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso. Il gioco ha riacquistato una certa intensità che mancava nei capitoli recenti e le mappe offrono un buon equilibrio tra mobilità, verticalità e chiarezza. Gli sparatutto sembrano più incisivi, e questo si nota immediatamente nelle partite. La modalità Zombi sembra tornare a un'atmosfera più classica, pur incorporando alcune gradite novità. Niente di rivoluzionario, ma abbastanza solido da far venire voglia di vedere di più. Certo, non è tutto perfetto: persistono alcuni problemi di ottimizzazione e il matchmaking non mi è sempre sembrato coerente. Alcuni giocatori molto esperti vengono abbinati a principianti, il che interrompe il flusso. Nonostante ciò, le basi sono promettenti. Se Treyarch riuscirà a perfezionare il bilanciamento e le prestazioni nel tempo, Black Ops 7 potrebbe segnare un vero ritorno per il franchise
Having tried the beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The game has regained a certain intensity that was missing in recent chapters, and the maps offer a good balance of mobility, verticality and clarity. The shooters seem more punchy, and this is immediately noticeable in matches. Zombie mode seems to return to a more classic feel, while incorporating some welcome new features. Nothing revolutionary, but solid enough to make you want to see more. Of course, it's not all perfect: some optimization issues persist, and matchmaking didn't always seem consistent to me. Some very experienced players are matched with beginners, which disrupts the flow. Nevertheless, the basics are promising. If Treyarch can refine the balance and performance over time, Black Ops 7 could mark a real comeback for the franchise

Longtemps que je n'ai pas joué à un Call of Duty, celui-ci a l'air un peu plus dans les thèmes que j'apprécie, reste à voir ce que donnera la campagne, peu de chance qu'elle arrive au niveau de celle de MW2 mais qui sait, la surprise n'est jamais impossible. Un peu dommage cependant concernant l'incapacité de mettre en pause la campagne solo ainsi que l'obligation d'une connexion internet pour cette dernière... Au moins Actipognon aura "innové". Sceptique mais curieux, je reste.
It's been a long time since I've played a Call of Duty, and this one looks a little more in keeping with the themes I appreciate. It remains to be seen how the campaign will turn out, as it's unlikely to match MW2's, but who knows, surprises are never impossible. It's a pity, though, that the single-player campaign can't be paused, and requires an internet connection... At least Actipognon has "innovated". Skeptical but curious, I remain.
