DLSS 4 integration has arrived for Oblivion Remastered through the DLSS Override feature
Nvidia's GeForce Evangelist, Jacob Freeman, has announced that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered now includes DLSS 4 support thanks to Nvidia’s DLSS Override option. This feature enables compatibility with Nvidia’s Transformer DLSS Super Resolution technology and Multi-Frame Generation.
Oblivion Remastered, developed on Unreal Engine 5, is a Lumen ray-tracing title providing users the choice of a hardware or software approach. The Hardware Lumen RT method differs from complete ray-tracing by combining screen-space data with hardware ray-tracing, enhancing lighting effects. The improvements are significant, as Lumen RT delivers more realistic lighting, reflections, ambient occlusion, and additional visual enhancements.

With DLSS Override, all RTX GPU owners can leverage Nvidia’s Transformer-based Super Resolution model for better upscaling quality. Additionally, those with Nvidia RTX 40 and RTX 50 series GPUs can take advantage of the more effective DLSS Frame Generation feature. Users of the RTX 50 series can also benefit from DLSS Multi-Frame Generation.
In the absence of DLSS Override, Oblivion does not support Nvidia’s latest DLSS models. Thanks to DLSS Override, Nvidia RTX owners can compel the game to utilize the newest version of DLSS.
An updated driver from AMD now enables RX 9000 series GPU users to activate FSR 4 in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This development has made the game one of the first titles to debut with both FSR 4 and DLSS 4 support right from launch. However, both technologies are activated through driver overrides to provide support for these upscalers.
