DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations brings a plethora of novelties

Bethesda and id Software have officially announced DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations, a major new expansion for the latest and very successful entry in the legendary shooter franchise. Scheduled to launch on July 7, 2026, the DLC will take players deeper into the dark fantasy world of The Dark Ages, introducing new locations, enemies, weapons, and gameplay mechanics designed to further evolve the Slayer's brutal campaign.

A new story

Set after the events of the base game, DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations, promises a fresh story filled with ancient secrets and new threats lurking beyond the battlefields players have already conquered. The expansion appears to place a greater emphasis on exploration and discovery, sending the Slayer into mysterious regions where forgotten truths and powerful enemies await.

"Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom."

One of the biggest additions is a brand-new weapon known as the Chain Spear. Designed to combine mobility and destructive power, the weapon allows players to engage demons in new ways, opening up additional combat strategies while maintaining the fast-paced action that the series is known for.
