GOG is giving away yet another free game

GOG, a digital distribution platform for PC games owned by CD Projekt, is offering for free the 2011 action adventure game with RPG elements, The First Templar – Special Edition. This is part of GOG's on-going Summer Sale campaign. For a limited time, PC gamers will be able to acquire their DRM-free free copy of this title. So, make sure to grab it while you still can.

The First Templar follows the story of two main characters – a French Templar, and his companion, a noble lady who has been proclaimed a heretic. Taking control over these two unlikely allies, the player must uncover the mysteries behind the Templar Order, play a role in a grand conspiracy, and discover the secret of the Holy Grail. The heroes face powerful opponents at every turn, including the Saracen, King Philip the IV of France and the Inquisition. The First Templar features both single player and co-op modes. When playing solo, the player can switch between the two characters, leaving the control of the second hero to the game’s AI. At any moment a second player can join in and take control of the AI-controlled hero.

PC gamers can redeem their free copy of The First Templar – Special Edition through GOG, and this amazing offer lasts for the next 3 days. At this time, it is unknown if GOG plans to offer any more free games during their summer sale. Unlike the GOG version, the game’s “Steam Special Edition” of this game features the unique “The Arena” bonus mission. The GOG version of this game appears to lack this content. And as always, remember to utilise our comparison tool to secure the finest deal on your upcoming favourite game.
