Metal Slug Tactics will be released in the fall

The beloved franchise returns with Metal Slug Tactics and, starting June 10th, will have a unique demo on Steam Next Fest. Publisher Dotemu and developer Leikir Studio have announced that Metal Slug Tactics, an adaptation of the iconic run-and-gun series Metal Slug, will be released during the fall. Metal Slug Tactics was announced at the 20 21 Summer Game Fest and was initially set to release in 2022. However, Dotemu soon announced that Metal Slug Tactics was being delayed to 2023 and has since remained in radio silence.

Here's your chance to get a head start on the action. Before the official launch, fans can lead their squads into battle by playing the first Metal Slug Tactics demo. This exclusive opportunity is available for a limited time on PC from June 10th to 17th during the Steam Next Fest. The demo, accompanied by a thrilling gameplay trailer, features series stars Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma in action, showcasing the game's challenging and fast-paced mission campaigns. Fans shouldn't miss out on this exciting preview.

In Metal Slug Tactics, each match begins with the strategic construction of a squad from Metal Slug's beloved cast of fighters, each armed with unique equipment. As the player, you'll face off against the franchise's infamous enemies in battles that test your intuition and efficiency. Surviving shootouts with lesser-ranked enemies will lead to decisive battles against bosses, such as the missile-firing warship revealed in the trailer. These towering threats stand between you and your march into new, deeper areas behind enemy lines.

Wield Metal Slug's classic weapons, leveraging skill trees, advantages, and an adrenaline system that fuels superpowered attacks to outwit and demolish the series' characteristic villains' flanks. The action is accompanied by an original soundtrack featuring music by Tee Lopes, composer of Sonic Mania, Berserk Boy, Sonic Superstars, Penny's Big Breakaway, and more.

Publisher Dotemu made its name by publishing classic franchises for the new generation. It was responsible for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Streets of Rage 4, two incredibly charming beat 'em up games that reinvigorated the industry with their revamped style but iconic gameplay.

Metal Slug Tactics will be released during the fall for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
