If you skipped the last ones, MotoGP 26 is worth a look

MotoGP 26 is changing how bike racing games feel

Every year this series shows up with a new number on the box, but MotoGP 26 is clearly trying to do more than just follow the calendar. Milestone is pushing harder this time, adding systems that actually change how the game feels once you’re on track and how a full season plays out off it.

The headline feature is the new Rider Based Handling system, and it’s not just a marketing name. The way your rider shifts weight, leans into corners, and reacts under braking now plays a much bigger role. You can feel the difference when entering tight corners or correcting mid-slide. It’s less about the bike being glued to the racing line and more about how you manage balance and momentum. Pair that with the Pro Experience and Arcade Experience options, and you’ve got a setup that works for both casual players and those who want full control. Add in Neural Aids, and the game can actively help you learn instead of just punishing mistakes.

Dynamic Rider Ratings and Career Mode finally matter

Away from the track, the new Dynamic Rider Ratings system keeps things from going stale. Riders evolve during the season based on performance, so you won’t see the same predictable outcomes race after race. It feeds directly into the revamped Career Mode, where you’re managing more than just lap times. There are press conferences, season objectives, rivalries, and contract negotiations, plus decisions that affect your path through the rider market. It finally feels like a full MotoGP career instead of a list of races.

There’s also more variety this year, thanks to the return of Race Off modes, including Motard, Minibike, Flat Track, and the addition of Production Bikes with their own physics. New locations like Canterbury Park join existing hubs, giving you something different between official race weekends.

Compared to something like Ride 5, which focuses on a wider range of bikes and road racing culture, MotoGP 26 stays locked into the pro scene. That focus pays off when you look at the official content: all 22 venues from the 2026 season are included, from Mugello and Silverstone to Sepang, Sachsenring, Phillip Island, and Valencia.

Online also gets a boost with cross-play multiplayer, improved matchmaking, and full lobbies, making it easier to actually race against others without the usual hassle.

If you’ve been waiting for a MotoGP entry that does more than small tweaks, this one finally takes a step forward. And before you buy, make sure to use our price comparison tool to find the best deals for MotoGP 26.

MotoGP 26 remains true to the series, offering a demanding, highly realistic motorcycle simulation. The press praised the game's rider-centric physics and comprehensive content, but criticized a lack of overall development. On Metacritic, the game has an approximate score of 79/100 on PS5, with tests ranging from 7/10 to 8.5/10 depending on the media. The community's reception is more mixed. Players appreciate the game's depth and realism, but point to high difficulty and a sense of déjà-vu compared to previous episodes. On Steam, reviews are "mixed" (about half of them positive). Overall, MotoGP 26 is considered a good simulation, technically solid and immersive, but too close to MotoGP 25. A recommended episode for fans, but less convincing for those expecting a real revolution.

MotoGP 26 does the job without really surprising. Riding is more advanced and realistic, which is cool, but also more demanding. At the same time, you get the impression of playing an episode very close to the old ones, with few major changes. Between a few bugs and a timid evolution, it's still fun, especially for fans.

The game looks nice, but nothing more. It's not a visual slap in the face (I mean, the grass looks really smooth, for example). What will matter to players will be the way in which the career mode is brought to life. Not my personal favorite, but I doubt it will revolutionize the genre.

This is a turning point in the genre. I like it when a game not only delivers, but tries to go beyond and bring something new to the table. That's always good for the players.

MotoGP 26 really changes the feel of the bike, and the new rider-based system is immediately apparent, with much greater weight and trajectory management than before. As a result, every corner requires greater precision and anticipation, making for a more realistic experience. On PS5, DualSense clearly reinforces this: the vibrations and triggers give a good feeling of grip and braking, and you can feel when the bike starts to stall. It adds a real sense of immersion. Fortunately, there are also Arcade and Pro modes. Arcade mode lets you have fun quickly, while Pro mode becomes almost a pure simulator, with a steep learning curve. In short, an interesting evolution that's as immersive as ever.

I think it's very positive that MotoGP 26 is going for a more complete experience. Not just racing, but progression, realism and details that make everything feel more authentic. That's what makes a game memorable.

MotoGP 26 places a greater emphasis on race strategy, especially through better fuel and tire wear management. The online mode allows racing with up to 20 players in fluid matches, making it particularly suitable for competition. Powered by the Unreal Engine 5, the game displays impressive graphics, although loading times can be long on older configurations. The handling, quite demanding, clearly values experienced players. Despite its qualities, the title suffers from limited content in the circuits, which prevents it from fully standing out, although it is still a solid sequel.

It looks very clean visually and, above all, very demanding: you can feel that the slightest braking or mistake could cost you dearly, which reinforces the simulation aspect. It's clearly a game that requires some learning, but which can become very satisfying once you've mastered it. On the other hand, I also have the impression that the approach is fairly classic. The feedback speaks of a solid base, but without any major new features, which gives a feeling of continuity rather than real evolution. I'm going to wait for a slight price reduction before I give it a try.

Even though there are 22 circuits, and the mechanics have been revised and improved, I find this kind of game very redundant. I suppose the circuits are also present in the older versions (I don't know). Paying more than 30 euros for this kind of product, which doesn't change much over the years, is a high price to pay, in my opinion. We're talking about 52 euros on steam, fortunately DLcompare allows you to find much cheaper products, but even there, I find it too expensive, except perhaps for those who are passionate about the game. The idea that the rider's balance on the bike can influence the in-game feel is great on paper, but we'll have to see how well it's done with the controller in hand.
