A Pikmin 4 demo is out next week

The release of Pikmin 4 is right around the corner but the latest Nintendo Direct has left us with a grateful surprise that will rejoice the fans of the series. You will be able to try the game for free starting next week thanks to a demo that will be released for Nintendo Switch. In the video revealed yesterday, you can watch some of the exciting novelties coming to the series in the new installment, including Oatchi, a brand new dog companion that will help you and the Pikmins by lifting and carrying things and becoming a mount that you can use so swiftly traverse land and water.

A new underground world

Pikmin 4 will bring back many of the features that made the franchise so popular, including the iconic creatures that give the name to the series. Alongside your new companion, you will get to explore a series of new underground areas that will pose a different type of challenge, with a deeper focus on puzzles and plenty of rewards to claim if you are daring enough to brave the difficulties.

Another interesting new feature of Pikmin 4 is that you will be able to embark on nighttime expeditions for the first time in the series. These will introduce new Glowing Pikmins for you to use, and you will really need them because the enemies will become much harder to kill during the night. Of course, Pikmin 4 will feature plenty of customization options to let you make your explorer look however you choose to make it stand out among its peers.
