SteamOS 3.7.14 Beta: Wake-on-Bluetooth returns to Steam Deck LCD
Valve has released the beta version of SteamOS 3.7.14, which is likely to be well-received by owners of the Steam Deck LCD, as it reinstates the wake-on-bluetooth feature. This feature is still experimental, having been completely disabled in the recent SteamOS 3.7.13 update after initially being available in the first SteamOS 3.7 release.
Not long ago, Valve launched the SteamOS 3.7.13 update, named "Out Exploring," which resolved some rather frustrating bugs, the most significant being the inconsistent Wi-Fi connection on the Steam Deck OLED. Yet, a disappointing note was hidden within the otherwise positive news:
General
- Disabled experimental support for Wake-on-Bluetooth for Steam Deck LCD while issues with spurious wake-ups are being investigated
The wake-on-bluetooth feature is quite useful for those who use wireless devices for gaming, allowing users to wake the Steam Deck from sleep mode with the press of a button. However, it appears that the feature caused some problems, leading the Steam Deck to wake up unexpectedly.

Now, we have the release notes for the SteamOS 3.7.14 beta version, entitled "Blue Skies." It's no exaggeration to say that the patch notes list just one change, but it's a wonderful one:
Bluetooth
- Re-enabled experimental wake-on-bluetooth support for Steam Deck LCD, including support for LE peripherals
This means that LCD users have the chance to try the Wake-on-Bluetooth feature again to see if it functions correctly. Keep in mind, if you encounter any bugs, be sure to report them to Valve to help move this feature out of the experimental phase and into stable status.
If you don’t want to wait for the official release of the beta on the main branch and are eager to test this update now, you can sign up for the test branch on your Steam Deck by navigating to Settings, then System, and then System Update Channel. From there, select the beta branch, and you should be set.
