After a teaser from Ted Lasso's official Twitter account, corroborated by a response from EA, it was all indicative but not confirmed. However, confirmation came faster than we expected: Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond are in FIFA 23. The most optimistic coach of all time will be selectable as a manager in Career Mode, and the team will be playable in both Career and Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. In Ultimate Team, there will also be special cards of Lasso and his sidekick, Beard, as coaches, as well as cosmetic items.

 

 

Ted Lasso won two Emmys for best comedy series

For those who don't know, Ted Lasso is one of the most successful series in recent years. Exclusive to AppleTV+, it depicts the story of American coach Ted Lasso, who left college American football to take over a football team in England, AFC Richmond.

 

"Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and the biggest stars of the AFC Richmond squad including Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Isaac McAdoo will all be authentically integrated into FIFA 23, along with Nelson Road-the club's home ground," EA Sports disclosed.

 

It is worth noting that all AFC Richmond content in FUT will be available through goals and challenges, which are rewards purchased in-game for your FUT Club throughout the current FUT Season. Each season will last approximately 6 weeks.

In comparison to FIFA 22, the next game in the renowned series brings several additions such as Women's football, HyperMotion 2 technology, a World Cup mode to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, cross-platform play, and many new enhancements that promise to deliver the best football experience in gaming.
