Xbox announces limited edition Xbox controllers and Series X Wrap themed after DOOM: The Dark Ages
Microsoft has just unveiled three new variations of Xbox accessories, all inspired by the upcoming DOOM game, which is set to be released as a first-party title. Pictured above, a brand-new wrap for the Xbox Series X, a new Xbox Wireless Controller, and an Xbox Elite Series 2 are on their way, all featuring some strikingly bloody and medieval motifs taken from DOOM: The Dark Ages.
The Xbox Wireless Controller comes in a "battle-worn green and silver" finish, showcasing a blood splatter on its top plate, alongside silver-colored panels on the grips. Additionally, each controller includes a unique skin meant for use in the game, known as the Slayer Executioner Skin.
In addition, the Dark Ages Xbox Elite Series 2 controller prominently displays the Mark of the Slayer, surrounded by "ember-like flakes" from hell. Its top plate is also transparent.
Finally, the special edition wrap, which attaches with velcro, features a large Mark of the Slayer on its front. Even the inner side of the wrap includes "unspeakable inscriptions and symbols from the deepest levels of Hell" etched into its design. The wrap is compatible with both the disc-drive and digital versions of the Series X.
The Xbox Wireless Controller – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition is currently available for $79.99. The Xbox Elite Series 2 – DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition can be pre-ordered for $199.99, set to launch on April 25. Lastly, the Xbox Series X Wrap—DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition is priced at $54.99 and is also available now. As these are limited edition items, they are likely to sell out quickly.
DOOM: The Dark Ages marks not only a departure from the rapid pace of Doom Eternal but also a daring reinvention that combines the raw brutality of the original DOOM with the advancements that id Software has developed over the years.
