RPGs are in many ways the backbone of gaming culture, and in Battle Brothers you'll find that even this classic genre has a few twists and turns to be had. In this turn-based RPG you'll be leading a band of mercenaries in a gritty fantasy world. One where your choices are the ones that matter. Where will you go next? You decide. Who will be in your band of mercenaries? You decide! When someone comes to you with a contract for a job, do you accept or decline? You decide! Everything is up to you, and that's exactly how Battle Brothers likes it to be. As you travel the world of Battle Brothers, you'll find that it is full of life and adventure. There's town and cities where you can find contracts for work, replenish supplies, get weapons and armor, and even find new mercenaries to join your group. In the outside world you'll fulfill contracts, go exploring in caves and caverns, hunt down enemies you think might be worth hunting, and much more. The world is procedurally generated, guaranteeing a unique experience every time you play. Which says nothing of the characters you meet and hire for your squad of mercenaries. Each one has a story to tell, each one has a unique set of skills that you can help develop. There's no classes to pick from or skill trees to learn, everyone has what they need to grow, they just need to fight in order to unlock their potential. Experience the adventure, taste the combat and war, and raise up your mercenaries the way you want in Battle Brothers.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 'Wound' system differ from simple 'Injuries' and what are the long-term strategic implications of managing persistent wounds versus temporary injuries?
Wounds in Battle Brothers are persistent negative status effects that linger between battles, unlike temporary injuries. These wounds can reduce a character's maximum HP, lower their stats, or impose other penalties for extended periods, even after a contract is complete. Managing wounds involves careful planning of rest, utilizing specific medical supplies or perks, and deciding whether to risk a wounded brother in future engagements or to dismiss them. Over-reliance on heavily wounded brothers can cripple a company's effectiveness and survivability in the long run, forcing difficult decisions about team composition and risk management.
