FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: Can I weld the doors shut to trap enemies in specific sections of the submarine, and if so, what are the implications?
Yes, you can weld doors. While this provides temporary security against creatures, it can also trap crew members, impede access during emergencies like fires or hull breaches, and even be undone by creatures with appropriate tools, creating a tense balance between security and accessibility.; How does the submarine's oxygen system work, and what are the consequences of its failure?
The submarine's oxygen system involves generators, oxygen tanks, and ventilation. Failure results in decreasing oxygen levels, leading to suffocation, reduced vision, and impaired performance for the crew. Maintaining this system is crucial for survival.; What is the purpose of the submarine's reactor, and what dangers are associated with its operation?
The reactor powers the submarine's systems. It's essential for lights, life support, and weapons. However, it can overheat, causing explosions, fires, and radiation leaks, demanding careful monitoring and maintenance by the engineering crew.; How do creatures breach the submarine, and what can the crew do to prevent or mitigate these breaches?
Creatures breach through hull breaches caused by collisions, damage from creatures, or malfunctions. The crew can use welding tools to repair breaches, deploy the ballast to control flooding, and use weapons to kill creatures before they can cause damage.; What is the function of the submarine's ballast tanks, and how are they used in gameplay?
Ballast tanks control the submarine's buoyancy. Filling them with water makes the sub sink, while pumping the water out makes it rise. They are vital for maneuvering, escaping creatures, and stabilizing the sub after hull breaches.; How do medical conditions affect gameplay, and what tools and resources are available to treat them?
Injuries and illnesses affect crew performance. These conditions can lead to bleeding, broken bones, poisoning, and more. The medical staff can use various items, such as bandages, morphine, and antibiotics, to treat these conditions and keep the crew alive.; What roles are available to the crew, and how do they contribute to the submarine's operation?
The crew can take on roles, such as Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Medic, and Security. Each role has specific responsibilities, such as piloting, maintaining systems, repairing damage, treating injuries, and operating weapons, all of which are essential for survival.; How does the submarine's electrical system work, and what happens when it's damaged?
The electrical system powers lights, machinery, and other vital systems. Damage can lead to power outages, malfunctioning equipment, and reduced visibility. The engineer has to repair wires and components to restore functionality.; Can players upgrade their submarine during a campaign, and if so, how?
Yes, players can upgrade their submarine. They can purchase new modules, weapons, and other equipment at outposts. Furthermore, players can also change the layout of the sub as they progress, altering its capabilities and effectiveness.; What is the role of diving suits, and how are they used in gameplay?
Diving suits allow crew members to venture outside the submarine to perform repairs, salvage resources, and fight creatures in the hostile environment. They provide protection from the environment and allow for underwater navigation.
