Hero's Hour offers you a unique combination of strategy and role-playing game mechanics. In this game, you control a hero that has to amass a large army in order to defeat other opponents before they annihilate you. You start with a small town as your base of operations and then proceed to explore the surrounding area. You need to gather resources, expand your base, and recruit additional troops for your armies. Develop them, learn powerful spells, find legendary weapons, and get ready to defend your territory from the invasion of other opponents. 

There are plenty of upgrades to unlock, and you will need all the help you can gather because battles are quite chaotic in this game. World exploration and your base and army development occur in a turn-based system, but battles are real-time. You just deploy your units and give attack orders, and your troops will do their best to accomplish them. The huge number of units on the battlefield and the frenetic speed of the combat make it all a bit messy, but you can throw in some spells to try to turn the tide of the battle and crush your opponents. 

Hero's Hour features eleven different factions, each of them with unique strengths and vulnerabilities, and there are plenty of artifacts, hero classes, units, and spells for you to discover. The game can be played cooperatively with other friends or in local "hotseat" multiplayer.
