Dome Keeper is a roguelike survival game where you take the role of a miner that has to defend his base from the attack of aliens. There is a powerful dome that covers your base, but the aliens will relentlessly attack it, so you need to gather materials to make it as resilient as possible. The game is divided into two different stages. On the first one, you dig tunnels below the surface to harvest minerals. You can use these to unlock and upgrade powerful defenses at your base. You can also enhance your mining tools and the jetpack you use to move underground.

When the aliens attack, you can take control of the defensive systems in your base and use a wide range of weapons to fend them off. There are many types of aliens and each of them will attack differently. Some of them can fly and others attack at ground level ground. You will need to prioritize your targets to kill them before they can destroy the dome that protects your base. That would mean the end of your mining operation and your life.

Dome Keeper features colorful graphics and a beautiful pixel art style. It delivers a challenging and exciting experience with difficulty that increases over time.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: How does the drill's upgrade path affect the balance between resource gathering and dome protection in Dome Keeper?
The drill upgrades can increase resource acquisition speed, the amount of resources per deposit, or both. Players must balance the benefits of faster resource gathering with the increased time spent exposed outside the dome, which leaves them vulnerable to attacks.; Considering the limited air supply, how should players prioritize dome repairs versus weapon charging during an attack?
Players must make split-second decisions based on the severity of damage and the attack type. Prioritizing repairs is essential to prevent dome collapse, while weapon charging is crucial for eliminating threats before they inflict too much damage. The player's current weapon and the enemy's attack patterns are essential factors in this decision.; In what ways do the relics found during dives permanently alter the gameplay loop?
Relics provide permanent enhancements to the player's abilities, such as increased drill speed, weapon damage, or dome repair efficiency. These relics can drastically change the optimal strategy for resource management, combat engagement, and overall progression.; How does the choice of weapons and their upgrade paths influence the effectiveness against different enemy types?
Each weapon has distinct strengths and weaknesses. Selecting and upgrading weapons that counter the attack patterns and resistances of specific enemy waves is vital. The player must choose the weapons best suited to mitigate damage and maximize their offensive capabilities.; How does the timing of dives affect the accumulation of resources and the player's vulnerability to attacks?
Diving at the right time is important. Diving too often can result in incomplete dome repairs or weapon recharges, leading to vulnerabilities. Conversely, waiting too long can mean missing valuable resource deposits. The optimal timing varies based on upgrades and the current wave.; How does the layout of the underground affect the player's strategy for resource collection and dome defense?
The underground environment varies with each playthrough. The distance and location of resource deposits can influence how quickly the player can gather resources. The terrain will also determine the best defensive positions for the dome and the ideal path for the drill.; How do environmental hazards, such as earthquakes or meteor showers, force players to adapt their usual gameplay?
Environmental hazards disrupt the standard rhythm of digging, repairing, and fighting. Earthquakes can damage the dome and obstruct resource access, while meteor showers force the player to make defensive preparations. Players must learn to react to these events.; What is the relationship between the number of waves survived and the difficulty of subsequent waves, and how does this affect resource management?
Each wave becomes progressively more difficult, with enemies spawning in greater numbers and with increased attack power. Players must balance resource gathering with upgrading their weapons and dome to keep pace with the increasing threat level, adjusting their strategy frequently.; How do special abilities, like the shield or teleport, influence the player's decision-making in critical situations?
Special abilities offer temporary advantages. The shield can buy time for repairs or recharge weapons, while teleportation can provide a quick escape from dangerous situations. Players must learn to use these abilities effectively to avoid damage and create opportunities for attack.; How does the combination of weapon, drill, and dome upgrades impact the player's overall build strategy?
Players must choose upgrades that complement each other. For example, a fast drill combined with a powerful weapon will create a build focused on rapid resource acquisition and efficient combat. The best build strategy evolves as the player unlocks relics and adapts to the challenges presented by each run.
