The Crust is a strategic simulation game that places players in the demanding role of establishing and managing a colony on the Moon. Set in a near-future where Earth’s resources are dwindling, and humanity must look outward to survive, the game blends base-building, resource management, exploration, and narrative decision-making into a richly detailed experience.

Players begin by constructing a lunar base on the Moon’s surface, utilizing both aboveground and underground space to build infrastructure and harvest valuable materials. Automation becomes essential as conveyor belts, drones, and other systems streamline operations. As the colony grows, players must oversee the well-being of their inhabitants—ensuring they have food, oxygen, shelter, and recreation while maintaining high morale in an isolated and hostile environment.

Exploration is a central gameplay pillar. Players can send out rovers to survey and explore the surrounding terrain, uncovering abandoned outposts, strange formations, and long-forgotten secrets buried beneath the Moon’s crust. These discoveries are not only sources of rare materials but also pieces of a larger story that gradually reveals itself through the environment and mission logs.

A dynamic political and economic system adds depth, with Earth-based corporations and nations offering contracts and trading opportunities. Choices made in diplomatic interactions can have significant long-term effects, shaping both the prosperity of the lunar colony and the geopolitical climate back on Earth.

The game features a multi-chapter narrative with branching paths and multiple endings, allowing players to shape the future through their leadership. Research and technological progression are key to success, unlocking advanced machinery, deeper mining capabilities, and improved quality of life for colonists.

The Crust offers a deeply immersive strategy experience that challenges players to balance survival, exploration, and diplomacy in the harsh lunar environment. It’s a compelling journey for those who enjoy thoughtful, systems-driven gameplay with narrative consequences.
