FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: What is the 'Flow State' mechanic, and how does it reward players for executing specific sequences of actions?
The 'Flow State' mechanic is a new system that rewards players for chaining together successful offensive or defensive actions. Achieving a 'Flow State' can temporarily boost player attributes, increase shooting percentages, or even unlock unique animations, making it crucial to maintain offensive pressure or defensive lockdown.; How does the 'Adaptive AI' system differ from previous iterations, and what challenges does it present to players?
The 'Adaptive AI' system learns and adjusts its playstyle based on your tendencies. If you consistently exploit a certain play, the AI will adapt to counter it, forcing you to diversify your strategy. Conversely, if you're predictable on defense, the AI will exploit your weaknesses more effectively.; Explain the 'Dynamic Tendency' feature and its impact on individual player performance within a single game.
'Dynamic Tendency' dynamically adjusts a player's statistical tendencies based on their performance in the current game and their matchup. For example, a player who is shooting exceptionally well might see their tendency to attempt difficult shots increase, while a player struggling might see their tendency to pass or drive increase.; What are 'Chemistry Boosts,' and how do they influence team cohesion and on-court performance in MyTeam?
'Chemistry Boosts' are awarded in MyTeam when you field a team composed of players with specific real-life connections (e.g., teammates, rivals, players from the same college). These boosts can provide stat enhancements to all players on the court, making team building more strategic.; How does the 'Player Identity' system translate into unique player animations and decision-making beyond just attribute ratings?
The 'Player Identity' system imbues each player with distinct personality traits that affect their on-court actions. A 'showboat' player might attempt flashy passes or celebrations, while a 'clutch performer' might see their attributes significantly boosted in late-game situations, influencing their animation sets and shot selection.; Describe the 'Rhythm Meter' and its effect on shooting mechanics, particularly for jump shots.
The 'Rhythm Meter' is a visual indicator that represents a player's shooting rhythm. Perfect timing within the meter results in a higher chance of making the shot, even for contested attempts. Maintaining this rhythm through consecutive successful shots can lead to 'hot streaks'.; What is the 'Coach Confidence' system, and how does a coach's confidence level influence gameplay and team strategy?
'Coach Confidence' is a new meta-game mechanic where your coaching decisions and on-court success influence your coach's confidence. A confident coach might unlock new tactical options, provide more dynamic halftime adjustments, or even inspire players to perform at a higher level. Conversely, a struggling coach might become more conservative or even make questionable substitutions.

As a PC gamer, I'm glad we're finally getting the next-gen version and not the current-gen version, with new graphics and mechanics and a cool career mode.

A sort of slot machine that does the same thing year after year. As long as consumers are buying, they won't bother to make any improvements worthy of the name, a waste of time and money in my opinion.

You change the year, a few players and that's it. Seriously, I'm sure there's a bit more to it than that, but these changes are ridiculous for the asking price.

These games have become cash grabs, and releasing a new title every year is already very complicated in terms of diversity. Apart from deleting/adding names, the differences are minimal, but the worst thing is microtransactions.

I decided a long time ago not to buy games that come out every year and have been doing so effectively. I hope that someday, instead of releasing a new game every year, I will reconsider the day they release it as paid DLC at a more reasonable price.

It's basically like FIFA... always the same game with little innovation or change. At least adding fun game modes like dunk contests etc. would be nice.

I'm not a fan of NBA games, so I'll pass on this one. Anyway, it's already well discounted, so it might be worth a try for people who enjoy the series.

I'm older and started with 2K from the first one on Dreamcast. I've been a big fan for a long time. They still have animations and bugs that they had for over 10 years. Constant overhead passes, unnatural left handed passes and left handed tackles and shots that many players have never done in their life.
