Assume the role of a warlord, commanding armies of heroes, monsters, and legendary units as you defend your tribe against the forces of Chaos. Master ancient Runes, harness powerful magic, and make every decision on the battlefield count.

The story unfolds in the lands of Talastar, west of Dragon Pass, during the pivotal year 7/37 (1608). Players follow Hahlgrim, a tribal champion of Talastar’s Bilings, as he unites diverse allies, including elves and temporary Lunar allies, against the relentless invasion of Chaos. Over 18 richly designed missions, the campaign weaves a tale of heroism, betrayal, and survival in a world steeped in myth.

Gameplay centers on tactical, grid-based battles where positioning, terrain, and zones of control are crucial. Units expend Action Points (AP) for movement, attacks, and special abilities, while heroes gain extra AP to execute advanced maneuvers like flanking or spellcasting. Magic plays a critical role, from Spirit and Rune spells to Cult Rune Magic, giving heroes unique tactical advantages. Units can enter defensive modes, launch counter-attacks, and perform opportunity attacks, making strategic planning and timing essential.

Players can command three distinct factions, Talastar, Chaos, and the Lunar Empire, each with unique units, abilities, and strategic styles. Armies range from elite heroes, spellcasters, and heavy infantry to fast skirmishers, cavalry, monsters, and artillery. Individual models within units have separate health, adding depth and realism to army composition and battlefield strategy.
