Aliens: Dark Descent pits you against a Xenomorph horde

There's been no shortage of video game events and presentations despite a lack of E3 this year. We have grown accustomed to the different publishers and developers organizing their own showcase events to reveal information about their ongoing projects and present new ones. This is exactly what happened with Disney & Marvel Games showcase at D23. Among the games present at the event, Aliens: Dark Descent has caught our eye. The upcoming game from Tindalos Interactive and Focus entertainment was announced back in June during the Summer Game Fest and it left many of us wanting to know more about its setting and mechanics. 

Our thirst for further information was partially satisfied with the brief gameplay footage that was shown at D23. Aliens: Dark Descent is a tactical squad-based action game that puts us in control of a group of Colonial Marines that has to find out what's behind a sudden Xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. Not only the brave marines will have to face familiar aliens, but also new types of threats. 

The game features a completely new storyline for the fans of Aliens to discover, and its first gameplay footage shows its real-time combat. Good strategies, adaptation to a changing environment and combat conditions, good tactical awareness, and a solid battle plan will be necessary to accomplish the different objectives in each of the missions and progress through the game. With a wide arsenal of weapons at your disposal and plenty of new technologies that you can research to improve your marines' equipment, Aliens: Dark Descent promises to deliver an immersive and challenging experience.

Aliens: Dark Descent will offer a different point of view of a franchise that is usually associated with first-person shooters or survival horror games.
