Riven Tides brings a new map and major tweaks to ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders gets a fresh start with Riven Tides update
Updates & Patches

ARC Raiders is about to get one of its most interesting updates yet. The upcoming Riven Tides update drops on April 28, and it’s not just another small patch. This one adds a brand-new map and changes how parts of the game actually play, especially if you’ve been following Expeditions.

The headline feature is the new coastal map, and it already looks like a solid change of pace. Instead of the usual inland environments, Riven Tides takes you to a seaside area that feels more open but also more dangerous. One of the main locations is Panorama Azzurro, an abandoned resort that mixes tight indoor spaces with exposed outdoor sections. Then you have the beachfront, where fights can stretch out with very little cover, and finally a dockyard area packed with containers, cranes, and vertical structures.

That variety matters. ARC Raiders has always worked best when you’re forced to adapt, and this map looks built around that idea. You won’t be able to rely on the same approach everywhere. One moment you’re moving carefully through buildings, the next you’re out in the open trying not to get picked off from a distance.

There’s also something else going on here. The update teases a large, unknown ARC presence around the harbor. It’s not fully revealed yet, but it’s clearly being set up as something bigger than the usual threats. Whether that turns into a new enemy type or a full event remains to be seen, but it adds a bit of tension to the whole update.

Expeditions get a more action-focused overhaul

Alongside the new map, Embark is changing how Expeditions work, and this could end up being just as important. Instead of rewarding players for stacking up stash value, the system now focuses on dealing damage during the event. It’s a simple change, but it pushes players to actually go out and engage instead of playing it safe and hoarding.

There’s also a new “Last Call” option, which lets players join an Expedition late if they missed the start. It won’t give full rewards, but at least it keeps people from being completely locked out.

On top of that, the recent patches leading into Riven Tides have cleaned up crashes, fixed bugs, and improved crafting so you can grab missing materials directly from the menu. Small things, but they make the overall experience smoother.

Not everything has landed perfectly, though. Some players are still frustrated with how time-limited content is handled, especially when it comes to deadlines and visibility. It’s something the team is clearly still working through.

Still, looking at everything together, Riven Tides feels like a real step forward. A fresh map, a shift in how you play Expeditions, and a few quality-of-life fixes that make the game easier to stick with.
