MARVEL Tōkon Launches With Full Year 1 Roadmap Revealed

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls officially launched on August 6 for PS5 and PC, bringing Arc System Works and Marvel’s fighting game to players. Notably, soon after launch, the game’s post-launch content plans were also quickly updated, giving players a look at what is coming throughout Year 1.

Phoenix Cyclops leads Year 1 with the power of the Phoenix Force

The first confirmed character for Year 1 is Phoenix Cyclops, a special version of Cyclops inspired by the Phoenix Five from Avengers vs. X-Men. Rather than relying solely on the X-Men leader’s familiar abilities, such as his Optic Blast and close-range attacks, this version also wields the power of the Phoenix Force, giving Scott Summers a completely different look and fighting style. Phoenix Cyclops will also be the first character added to the game as part of the Year 1 plan.

Following Phoenix Cyclops, the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass will continue to roll out in several stages. The currently announced schedule is:

• October–December 2026: Phoenix Cyclops
• January–March 2027: Character 2
• April–June 2027: Character 3 and Stage 1
• July–September 2027: Character 4

In total, the Year 1 Pass will add four playable characters and one new stage. Aside from Phoenix Cyclops, the identities of the other three characters have yet to be revealed, while no further details about the new stage have been announced. The current roadmap runs through September 2027, with the Year 1 content being released across several stages rather than all at once.

Alongside the characters and stage, the Pass also includes a set of character poses for the results screen, with this content unlocked immediately. The Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass is included with the Digital Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition.
