Phasmophobia reveals its new seasonal event

Phasmophobia continues to evolve in 2025, with developer Kinetic Games unveiling exciting seasonal events for players. The game has just announced its first major event of the year—Cursed Hollow—promising fresh challenges, thematic rewards, and immersive ghost-hunting gameplay.

The Cursed Hollow event will begin on April 17, as revealed on the Phasmophobia website. Like previous seasonal events, players will team up to uncover eerie secrets by completing objectives and unlocking exclusive rewards. However, this time, Kinetic Games is taking things a step further by incorporating community feedback from earlier events like Crimson Eye and Winter’s Jest.
 

Enter the Cursed Hollow
 

In Cursed Hollow, ghost hunters will be tasked with identifying spirits, completing special objectives, and discovering totems scattered across various maps. These totems can be activated for various effects—some beneficial, some harmful—adding a twist to every investigation.

Kinetic Games has addressed player feedback by changing how rewards are earned. This time, rewards will be split between community goals and personal goals. While the community will work together to unlock ID cards and cosmetic upgrades, each player’s personal progress will also be tracked, ensuring everyone feels a sense of accomplishment.

Another new addition: map rotations. Locations impacted by the event will change daily, giving players a wider variety of themed experiences. The event will also be shorter, lasting three weeks instead of a full month—keeping things fresh and focused. Once community goals are met, the respective rewards will be automatically granted to players upon login. As with Crimson Eye, various gameplay modifiers will return, triggered by interacting with Forest Spirit Minion totems—an element sure to keep even seasoned ghost hunters on their toes

Following its successful console release, Phasmophobia is having a strong 2025, and Cursed Hollow is just the beginning. Kinetic Games’ 2025 roadmap teases even more exciting content, updates, and gameplay changes coming later this year.
