Sony reveals Returnal PC system requirements

Returnal will be soon joining the increasing list of video games initially exclusive to PlayStation consoles that end up releasing on PC too. Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War are honorable mentions in that list, and the immersive sci-fi roguelike adventure created by Housemarque will launch on Steam in the future too. 

The competition between Sony and Microsoft for the dominance of the console market is as lively as ever, and the use of exclusivity deals to secure players for each platform is old news. However, Microsoft has a certain advantage on that matter because it opens to the players the possibility of playing those same games on PC too, which sweetens the deals for many players. Sony has been always more reticent about dropping the exclusivity of its games, but that policy seems to be changing in the last few years and we can now enjoy quite a few Sony games on PC too, even if it's long after they launched on console.

Returnal is an exciting third-person shooter that takes you to an alien world trapped in a sort of time loop. You are Selene Vassos, a space explorer from the ASTRA Corporation investigating a strange signal coming from planet Atropos. Your ship ends up crashing on the planet and you are forced to explore the planet to find a way of escaping. Things get very weird when you find out that every time you die you have to start your adventure all over on a planet where everything seems to change with every time loop. Returnal is a fast-paced action game that dares you to survive against all odds.

Sony has finally revealed the system requirements to play the game on PC and they are a bit too steep on the higher end:

• Memory: 16 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB)
• Storage: 60 GB available space
• Additional Notes: SSD Recommended

Recommended:

• OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 1903)
• Processor: Intel i7-8700 (6 core 3.7 GHz) AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (8 core 3.7 GHz)
• Memory: 32 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (8 GB) AMD RX 6700 XT (12 GB)
• Storage: 60 GB available space

 
The recommended RAM seems to be a bit too much if we consider that it's double the amount that the game uses on a PlayStation console. But if you are willing to give the game a try, you will find the best deals to buy your Returnal PC key as soon as it's available.
