Saints Row will arrive later than expected

The recent announcement of the new Saints Row was received by a mix of skepticism and joy from the fans. A part of them thought that the upcoming title looked too similar to the games in the GTA series and feared that it would lose the uniqueness that made remarkable previous installments in the action-adventure video game series created by Volition. The new game definitely looks less flashy than Saints Row IV and Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, and it will be starring a new cast of characters, which is probably the main reason for some of the fans' disappointment. But the new Saints Row comes as a great opportunity to bring the franchise back to the front line. After a few videos and more information about the game, it's quite clear that the community is quite excited about the upcoming launch.

Unfortunately, it seems that Volition is not going to have the game ready in time for the date that was originally announced. The release of Saints Row was scheduled for February 25, 2022, but the developers need a bit more time to polish the game. 

"Our priority is to create the best Saints Row game yet and, if we released on the original date, it wouldn't be up to the standards we've set ourselves, and that you're expecting and deserve. The team just need more time to do our vision justice; we're doing some fine tuning and there won't be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish."

"In all honesty, we underestimated the impact COVID would have on our schedule, although everyone adapted very quickly to the working from home arrangement and continued to be incredibly productive. However, due to the size and scope of our new Saints Row, it's become apparent that to create the best game possible, we need to give our team longer to perfect their craft."

Therefore the new release date for Saints Row is August 23, 2022. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
