Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 may have a sequel

The undeniable success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 across all platforms reinforces the idea that players do not need things extremely original and innovative to like a game. A solid gameplay experience that follows the basics of the shooting genre alongside a good story have been more than enough to captivate a huge community that is not necessarily composed of fans of Games Workshop's hobby exclusively. Therefore it's no surprise that developer Saber Interactive is already thinking about making a sequel.

Also, the increasing popularity of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will serve as a good starting point to set the foundations of a new installment in the series, and the lore of Warhammer 40K is vast enough to get sources of inspiration for a new story. Saber Interactive chief creative officer Tim Willits has talked about this matter in a recent interview with IGN where he opened the door to a possible sequel or a big DLC for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

“Our game director Dmitry Grigorenko, has proposed some story ideas that could either be DLC or a sequel. We’re literally just catching our breath. This is two weeks out. We just need to get the dust to settle. But I can confidently say that we will not disappoint our Warhammer fans in the future. It’s too big of a success! I know that’s an obvious thing to say, but hopefully, we’ll be working on Space Marine content for a long time.”
