Yoshi’s Crafted World shows its gameplay on a new video

Yoshi's Crafted World is an amazing side-scrolling platform video game in 3D exclusive for Nintendo Switch that allows you to play as the most famous dinosaur of the Super Mario universe. Yoshi is back in a new adventure where he will have to traverse the world searching for some special gemstones. Kamek and Baby Bowser have tried to steal the legendary Sundream Stone that would grant anyone their wildest dreams, but when our hero tries to stop them, the gems are sent flying, and they end spread across the world. Yoshi will have to find them to restore the artifact to its former self.

Yoshi's Crafted World has been designed using a cardboard-cutout art style, and it exploits this feature quite cleverly. The game allows Yoshi to move through the stages in a 2.5D plane, but you can play those stages twice because you can flip your point of view and play the stage backwards, uncovering a new world behind the cardboard-like scenario. The game also features other well-known abilities of Yoshi. He can catch enemies and objects using his tongue to swallow them, turning them into eggs that he will then use as projectiles. Nintendo has recently published a new video where you can see many of the gameplay features included in Yoshi's Crafted World, including the use of Amiibo to unlock several costumes for our protagonist.

The game includes a cooperative multiplayer mode that makes use of Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons to allow two players to play together. As you navigate Yoshi through the stages, he will find loads of collectibles, coins, Poochy Pups, and handicraft costumes, but you will also have to deal with a variety of enemies and platforming puzzles. Yoshi's Crafted World is scheduled for worldwide release on March 29,2019, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
