Children of Morta is coming this summer!

The game’s tag line is ‘It runs in the family,’ and it seems like so. The Bergson family have been the keepers and protectors of Mount Morta for generations. They are the guardians of the mystical mountain as well as the land surrounding it. However, they’re now facing the most dangerous of the trials as one family. Corruption is threatening to turn the mountain they protect into a monster-filled nightmare.

Become part of the journey of a family of heroes and save Mount Morta from corruption, fighting to protect the land and people you love. Explore dangerous dungeons full of dark creatures and discover the hidden truth behind the corruption. The dungeons are beautifully made and procedurally generated to guarantee a unique gaming experience upon leaving the Bergson’s home.

Each of the members of the family has a distinct fighting style, background, expertise, and personality. You will have to put your skills to the best use if you want to become the guardian you need to be to save your loved ones from disaster.

Witness the emotions of Bergson family members and follow their story as they struggle to help each other to return peace to the once beautiful mountain.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

If I upgrade a character's skill tree, is that upgrade available to all family members?
No. Skill tree upgrades are character-specific, meaning each Bergson family member has their own unique skill progression.
Can I use the same character to complete all the dungeons, or do I need to switch?
You can theoretically, but it's highly encouraged to switch between family members. Each character has unique strengths and weaknesses, and some dungeons are better suited for certain family members.
Does the game's narrative progress even if I fail a dungeon?
Yes, the story continues to unfold regardless of your dungeon successes or failures, though certain in-game events may be affected.
What is the benefit of using multiple characters during a single dungeon run?
Switching between characters provides tactical flexibility. Characters have different cooldowns, and you can change your strategy as needed.
Are there permanent upgrades or benefits that carry over between runs?
Yes. You gain experience, earn currency, and find items during runs. These can be used to permanently upgrade the family home and provide passive buffs or character upgrades.
How does the Corruption mechanic impact gameplay?
Corruption accumulates as you progress in the dungeons. The higher the corruption, the tougher the enemies get. The family members can gain special skills to temporarily resist the effect of corruption.
What happens if all the family members die during a dungeon run?
The current dungeon run ends, and you return to the family home. You will retain any items and experience you acquired. You can then start a new run.
How do the 'Divine Graces' work?
Divine Graces are temporary buffs granted to a character that can be found inside the dungeons. These effects can range from increased damage to faster movement or healing.
Is there a level cap for the characters?
Yes, each character has a level cap, but the home upgrades extend their abilities and allow further character customization.
How much does the family home influence the gameplay?
The family home serves as a central hub, providing opportunities to upgrade characters and access passive buffs, as well as providing context for the game's story. Home upgrades can significantly impact the effectiveness of your characters.
