Wield the power to go back in time and save the world from alien invaders! From the makers of FTL comes Into The Breach, a retro-style mecha strategic game where your greatest weapon isn’t giant robots but time itself!

You command a squad of three mechs that are sent back in time to prevent a giant insectoid race called the Vek from taking over the Earth. But it’s not enough to save this Earth--you have to save ALL the Earth’s from different timelines as well!

Employ strategy and tactics as you fight the aliens on an isometric map. Use the terrain to your advantage, forcing aliens into difficult or dangerous terrain while protecting the cities. Every world you land in is randomly generated, so be on your guard!

Use time to your advantage. All enemy moves are predicted ahead of their turn. Take action to counter each one precisely. One false move and your plan comes tumbling down! If that happens, use a limited time warp ability to move back to the previous turn and try again.

Use each mech and pilot to the best of their ability. Each one has a unique skill that can turn the tide of battle--that is, if you know how to use them wisely.

Your never-ending battle to save all the timelines begins now. Defeat is not an option--head once more Into the Breach!

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I deliberately sacrifice a building to protect my mechs, and if so, how does that impact the mission's success?
Yes, you can. Buildings take damage from enemy attacks. Allowing a building to be destroyed results in a failure condition. But you can strategically place your mechs to intercept the enemies' attacks instead, saving buildings at the expense of mech health.
How do I gain more energy to power my mechs, and what happens if I run out?
Energy is gained at the start of each turn. Energy is used to activate mech abilities. If you run out, your mechs' actions are severely limited.
What is the primary function of the grid-based battlefield, and how does terrain impact combat?
The grid dictates movement and the range of attacks. Terrain, such as mountains and water, blocks movement or attacks.
How do the different mech classes interact with each other in terms of supporting roles, and are there mech classes that have a synergistic relationship?
Mechs have unique abilities that support each other. Some mechs excel at pushing enemies, while others focus on direct damage or protecting allies. Different squads are based on specific mech-type synergies.
Besides dealing damage, what are some alternative ways to defeat the Vek?
Besides dealing damage, you can use abilities to push enemies, block attacks, or disable them temporarily. Some enemies can also be killed by environmental hazards.
What is the significance of the pilot's experience, and how does it affect mech performance?
Pilots gain experience as they complete missions. They level up and gain skills that improve mech stats, enhance abilities, or add new capabilities.
How do I unlock new weapons and abilities for my mechs?
You can earn grid power by completing objectives. Grid power is used to purchase new weapons and abilities between missions.
What is the purpose of the 'time-travel' mechanic, and how does it affect the game's progression?
The 'time-travel' mechanic allows you to reset a failed timeline and try again. Each playthrough introduces new squads, pilots, and challenges, making each experience unique.
What are the different types of Vek, and how do their attack patterns and abilities differ?
There are numerous Vek, each with unique attack patterns and abilities. Some attack directly, some support other Vek, and some utilize environmental effects.
How does weather, or environmental factors, affect combat, and how can I use it to my advantage?
Weather effects like acid rain or earthquakes can damage buildings or affect mech abilities. Some mechs or weapons can be used to control the environment.
