The Crusaders places you as the commander of a faction who must lead their army against other would-be conquerors. I have an army. Lead your troops across a 3D world map. With each victory, use the spoils of war to upgrade your troops. Provide them with better equipment or alter their class, or give them powerful spells and other special abilities to turn the tide of battle in your favor. You may even include monsters and war machines in your ranks.
Command your troops. Fight the enemy in RTS style. Lead your units from the front and take on advantageous positions on the terrain. Use every tactical trick at your disposal: charge with the sun at your back to blind the enemy, take the high ground to rain down arrows on your foes, and burn forests down to smoke them out.
Carry the fight to the enemy. Should your main unit engage an opposing force, you will enter hack-and-slash mode, much like Dynasty Warriors. Only your skills with the sword and with spells can save your hide when surrounded by foes.
