    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rearrange the order in which I light the embers to solve a puzzle, or is the sequence fixed?

How does the game guide me towards the next puzzle? Is it a linear path, or do I have freedom in choosing where to go?
The game offers a degree of exploration, but generally progresses in a semi-linear fashion, gently nudging you toward the next puzzle area.
Are there any penalties for failing to solve a puzzle? Do I get a 'game over', or is there a consequence?
There are no penalties for failing. You can retry puzzles as many times as you wish without any negative repercussions.
Can I revisit areas to find secrets, or are the areas only explorable during the initial progression?
You can revisit previously explored areas to find secrets or complete any unfinished objectives.
How does the 'Remembering' mechanic function? Can I freely explore these memories, or are they presented in a linear fashion?
Memories are typically experienced in a linear manner, telling a specific story related to the characters and the world.
What role does the journal play in the gameplay? Does it provide clues, or is it simply for lore and story?
The journal primarily provides narrative context and lore. Hints are integrated into the environment, not explicitly in the journal.
Are there any combat elements in the game? Do I need to fight enemies?
There is no combat. The game focuses entirely on puzzle-solving and exploration.
How complex do the puzzles become as the game progresses? Do they introduce new mechanics or are they simple throughout?
Puzzles gradually increase in complexity, introducing new mechanics and requiring more sophisticated problem-solving skills as you advance.
Does the game provide hints if I'm stuck on a puzzle, or am I left to figure it out on my own?
The game provides subtle environmental cues and visual hints. It doesn't offer explicit, direct hints.
Are the collectible items essential for progression, or are they purely optional for lore and completionists?
Collectibles are optional and primarily serve to enrich the lore and provide a sense of completion for those who seek them.
