Would you rather be hiding or fighting for your life in the midst of an alien invasion? Young James Hawkins doesn't get to choose when he finds himself trapped inside a prototype Battle Frame armor suit loaded with weapons. The Raknos hordes are rampaging through the galaxy, leaving a trail of destruction and hundreds of human mining colonies reduced to ashes, and planet Medusa-42 is their next target. James is not an experienced fighter, but he will have to learn fast if he wants to survive the alien onslaught.

Blackwind is a top-down action game that puts you in the shoes of James. Defeating the aliens is his only chance to survive and find a way to remove the battle suit. Thankfully, the Battle Frame is equipped with a wide variety of weapons and boosts his combat capabilities. He can engage the Raknos hordes in melee combat or shoot the aliens down with powerful energy weapons, rockets, and more. As the game progresses, you can unlock additional abilities from a skill tree, evolving your Battle Frame and gaining new powers. The suit is equipped with a drone that can be a great help on the battlefield as support fire.

Blackwind also features a local co-op mode where one player controls the suit and another one the drone, offering a unique cooperative experience.
