Times have changed; the vampires live among humans by following precepts of the masquerade. These precepts are similar to the old saying “to live happily, live hidden”. Children of the night must be as discreet as possible, blend in the masses to avoid any punishment by their brothers. The Camarilla, one of the organizations in the games, is led by the Prince, Sebastian LaCroix, he ensures compliance of the masquerade laws.

While vampires confront their ideals through different organizations, the sarcophagus of Ankara is discovered. Rumors say that this tomb contains Antediluvian, a third generation vampire. It is in the middle of this major discovery and conflicts between organizations, that the player is turned into a vampire. While he escapes death, the hero is sent to Santa Monica where he must prove his worth.

You will have to choose between one of the seven clans that compose the Camarilla, which are the Brujah, Gangrel, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, and Ventrue. Each clan has its own style: magic, strength, or stealth. Your journey will be full of surprising encounters, especially with the organizations: the Camarilla, to which you belong, the Anarchs, the Sabbats, the Kuei-jin, and the Leopold Society. Adapted from the roleplaying game Vampire: The Masquerade, Bloodlines offers you the chance to play as a child of the night in a rich and dark world.

One of the best games I've ever played, although it's full of bugs, you'll have to download the unofficial patches.
