A popular roguelite shooter is now available for free on the Epic Games Store

The digital distribution platform for video games developed and maintained by Epic Games is known as the Epic Games Store. It provides a carefully selected range of games for PC and Mac, often offering exclusive titles and substantial discounts.

Once again, it is time for another giveaway on the Epic Games Store. The Thursday promotion has been updated, replacing last week's offer of Beholder, and this time around, we have Brotato, a 2023 action roguelike inspired by Vampire Survivors. 

Crafted by Blobfish, this top-down action game places you on a hostile planet as a gun-wielding potato. In spite of the bizarre premise, with adversaries on your path, you need to choose a potato character that showcases various abilities and combat techniques. Each potato can equip and carry up to six weapons, and as you advance through levels, numerous upgrades become available, providing a vast array of options to enhance abilities based on your preferred playstyle. 

The game also features a manual aiming option (though, like many games in this genre, the default is auto-fire), rapid 30-minute rounds, a variety of potato characters with unique traits (including one-handed, crazy, lucky, and mage), hundreds of weapons at your disposal (such as flamethrowers, SMGs, rocket launchers, sticks, and stones), and a multitude of distinct enemy types. 

There is a difficulty adjustment section that allows you to customize the game to your liking, modifying health, damage, and enemy speed. The game supports four-player local co-op as well. 

The Brotato giveaway is currently active on the Epic Games Store. When not being offered for free, the game is typically priced at $4.99, but until December 5, it can be claimed at no cost for all PC gamers.
