Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition is coming next year

Beyond Good and Evil is a cult video game that has many followers from all over the world. The sales of the game were not that good initially but it has gathered a significant community of fans over the years partly because it was created by Michel Ancel, the father of Rayman. These same followers have been waiting for the release of its sequel for quite a long time. Ubisoft announced it years ago and left the fans with a video and no release date. After that, all news related to Beyond Good and Evil 2 have been rumours, especially since Ancel left the world of video games to focus on other matters.

A reveal that was not meant to be

The celebration of the 20th anniversary of the game brings it to the headlines again but in a very unexpected way. Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition was recently announced on a now-deleted Xbox Store page and it was even playable for a short while via Ubisoft's gaming platform. This new version of the original game will feature remastered graphics in 4K and 60 FPS, as well as other gameplay improvements. However, it seems that all this information has been due to an internal error and Ubisoft tried to make it disappear as soon as possible. Ultimately, the company has confirmed the existence of the game and will be sharing more information about it in the future.

The release of Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition is scheduled for "early 2024" according to Ubisoft and it won't be too long until we know more details about this new version of Jade's adventure. Unfortunately, there is no news about a possible release of Beyond Good and Evil 2, which is not really surprising since the game has completely disappeared from the radar.
