Darkest Dungeon II is coming to PlayStation consoles later this year

Red Hook Studios announced that Darkest Dungeon II, its dark turn-based travel RPG, will arrive on PS4 and PS5 on July 15, 2024. After its PC release in 2023, players will soon be able to embark on the treacherous journey aboard the stagecoach. The base game, the DLC "The Binding Blade," and the Oblivion pack (which contains the base game and the DLC) will be available for PS4 and PS5. Digital purchase provides both the PS4 and PS5 versions.

Darkest Dungeon II is not just a game, it's a challenge. It's a test of your strategic skills and your ability to manage not only the physical well-being of your heroes but also their mental fortitude. As you face the horrors ahead, every decision you make carries heavy consequences. Are you ready to navigate this world on the brink of collapse and battle your own inner demons?

"We have been very eager to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players," said Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios. "The game feels great with DualSense Controller–we've been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death's door, or the rumble of the stagecoach's wheels as it hits a trap. Darkest Dungeon I was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel."

In addition to the base game, the DLC Darkest Dungeon II: The Binding Blade will also be available to PlayStation players. The key features of this content pack include the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the wandering mini-boss, The Warlord.

The sequel to Darkest Dungeon introduces a host of unique gameplay elements that are sure to intrigue and excite PlayStation players. With all-new 3D visuals in their distinctive style, a run-based road trip structure, an enhanced version of the innovative turn-based combat system, fourteen playable heroes, five regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub with extensive persistent upgrades, Darkest Dungeon II offers a gaming experience like no other.

Darkest Dungeon II invites players to embark on an exciting journey through five campaigns, known as "Confessions," each featuring its own terrifying boss and comprehensive mechanics. Additionally, Red Hook Studios recently announced a free upgrade that will add a new mode called Kingdoms, where players will race against time to face and defeat threats that can condemn and destroy the Kingdom.
