Elden Ring Nightreign could soon be introducing a whole new way to challenge players, if recent datamining is to be believed. The follow-up to 2022’s massively successful Elden Ring, Elden Ring Nightreign launched on May 30 with an impressive player base — over 300,000 concurrent players within its first two hours. While weekly peaks have since dropped to about a third of that figure, the developers have kept fans engaged with regular updates, including the addition of a two-player mode. Now, it seems another major feature might be on the horizon.

According to leaked details, FromSoftware may be working on a ranked endless dungeon mode designed to push adventurers to their limits while offering unique rewards and gameplay twists.

The rumored mode, reportedly titled Deep of Night, was discovered in the game’s code and would be accessible from the Expeditions menu. Players would descend through five increasingly difficult Depths, with progression benchmarks set at 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, and 6,000 rating points. Crucially, rank losses would never drop players below their current Depth, and matchmaking would ensure they are paired with others of similar skill.

What sets Deep of Night apart isn’t just the escalating difficulty — it’s the exclusive perks and gameplay changes. Successful runs could grant up to three additional relic slots, on top of the usual three, usable only within the mode. Special weapons with unique buffs and debuffs might also appear, alongside enemy variants such as magma-infused bosses. These features could make the mode a thrilling alternative to standard gameplay.

If true, this wouldn’t be the first time dataminers have accurately predicted Elden Ring Nightreign’s future content. Earlier leaks correctly revealed the game’s max level and how diminishing returns work at higher tiers. While the Deep of Night details remain unconfirmed, even partial accuracy could spark renewed excitement among the community.
