Hitman 3: IO Interactive unveils all game modes

Also announced at the Sony online conference on June 11, Hitman 3 will conclude the World of Assassination trilogy in January 2021. At that time, we discovered one of the six destinations that will be available on the next game in the Hitman series, namely Dubai, and in particular its vertiginous towers. Some gameplay footage was also shown.

We already knew about some of the features that will be present in Hitman 3, such as the possibility of importing the levels of Hitman and Hitman 2, which brings the total number of destinations to twenty, or the possibility of playing the game in VR through Playstation VR. More details about the gameplay have been revealed today, in particular about the game modes that will be available.
 

Obviously the Campaign mode will be there, but this time it will be a sandbox campaign.

Elusive Targets will allow players to hunt down and eliminate a target without using the interface, but according to IO Interactive, there are undisclosed changes coming to this mode. Escalations will challenge you with missions while putting obstacles in your way, like taking out targets with certain restrictions to the disguises you can use.

Contracts mode will let you choose your targets, as well as the elimination rules, and it will also allow you to challenge other players in a leaderboard.

Sniper Assassin will be back, challenging you to get the highest score by taking out targets with a sniper rifle. However, this mode will only be playable solo in Hitman 3, and Hitman 2's co-op servers will close before the game's release.

Finally, there's bad news for fans of Ghost mode, because it will not be present in Hitman 3, and the servers previously available will also close starting August 31. IO Interactive seems to be exploring other options for multiplayer, and we should have more details on that before the game's release.

Hitman 3 will be released in January 2021 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X.
