Mega Man: Dual Override Reveals Kung Fu Chef Cook Man

Mega Man: Dual Override Introduces Kung Fu Chef Cook Man

A talented chef can win diners over with a good meal, but the latest arrival in Mega Man: Dual Override has a far livelier way of showing off his skills. Capcom has introduced Cook Man, a robot who blends his passion for cooking with martial arts to create a style called Kung Fu Cooking. That premise alone makes him an intriguing opponent: with a chef this eager to throw punches, Mega Man and Proto Man are unlikely to enjoy a quiet meal.

Cook Man Turns Up the Heat as Half the New Robot Masters Stand Revealed

Following news of Mega Man’s return, Capcom has been gradually unveiling the opponents awaiting players in the new adventure. Twinkle Girl lights up the stage with dazzling fireworks, Jet Man shows off his aerial skills as the leader of an acrobatic flight team, and Tank Man manages Robot Oil, a vital resource for robots. Following those three, Cook Man takes players into a sprawling restaurant, where culinary flair and martial arts combine to cause chaos.

With Cook Man’s introduction, four of the eight new Robot Masters have been revealed. The remaining half still await their turn in Capcom’s spotlight.

A wandering cooking robot, Cook Man believes preparing a meal should be a pleasure from the first ingredients to the finished dish. He incorporates kung fu movements into his cooking, developing his own distinctive Kung Fu Cooking style. However, his hunger for recognition spirals out of control, turning that passion into the source of mayhem throughout the restaurant.

Players will have to make their way through that mayhem before meeting the chef himself.

Cook Man’s stage takes Mega Man and Proto Man into an enormous kitchen filled with flying cooking utensils. Players must watch carefully, choosing when to attack and when to dodge as they push forward. The restaurant setting becomes part of the challenge, with familiar kitchen implements now standing between the two heroes and their destination.

The showdown with Cook Man takes the idea a step further: the arena is a giant pan filled with vegetables. In the gameplay footage shown, the chef attacks with his bladed ponytail and kitchen utensils. From the route to the boss room to the fight itself, the cooking theme ties the encounter together, giving Cook Man’s stage a distinctive identity.

Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch in spring 2027, with both Mega Man and Proto Man playable. Custom Chips let players tailor their abilities, while Override provides a temporary power boost followed by a period of reduced performance, making its timing an important consideration.

For me, a showdown inside a frying pan is an invitation worth accepting when Cook Man’s restaurant opens its doors.
