Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Celebrates Year Two With Exciting November Content

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds kicks off Year Two with a packed November
Updates & Patches

Godzilla, Bayonetta, and McLaren rarely share the same stage, but the racetracks of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds provide the perfect meeting place for this unlikely lineup. November marks the beginning of Year Two, bringing fresh collaborations alongside changes to how players compete. Those eager to explore will have new courses and vehicles to try, competitive racers can look forward to head-to-head challenges, and anyone who has taken a break has plenty of reasons to get back behind the wheel.

New arrivals set the pace for another year of racing

Having already drawn attention with its lineup of crossover racers, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds continues to bring together personalities from beyond Sonic’s world. The Year Two plans unveiled on October 9 and the November calendar published on November 1, 2026, reveal an opening lineup with plenty to discover:

  • Godzilla Pack — November 3: Paid DLC included in Season Pass Two, adding the Godzilla Escape course and three vehicles: Godzilla Cruiser, King Ghidorah Coupe, and Mothra Surf, alongside additional Jukebox music and sounds.
  • Bayonetta — November 3: A free character unlocked through Rival Duel. The witch arrives with the Butterfly Witch vehicle, special emotes, and sounds.
  • SEGA Consoles Pack — November 3: Bonus content included in Season Pass Two, featuring the Genesis Tower US, SegaSaturn JP, and Dreamcast EU vehicles, inspired by SEGA’s familiar gaming systems.
  • Super Shadow — November 3: The racer and Super Dark Flare vehicle are available to players who own both Season Pass One and Season Pass Two.
  • McLaren Racing — November 17: A free update brings Sonic to the track in McLaren’s Papaya and Anthracite colors, alongside a Speed-type vehicle modeled after the team’s racing car.

Much of the appeal lies in how different these additions are. Godzilla taps into the fascination with Toho’s monster universe, Bayonetta brings the alluring witch’s distinctive personality, and McLaren connects the fun with real-world motorsport. Even the console-inspired vehicles have a charm of their own for longtime SEGA fans. All these inspirations now have a chance to meet in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Beyond the new looks, a substantial gameplay update arrives at the start of Year Two:

  • Duel Mode: Players compete in 1v1 races featuring the Duel Boost mechanic. Being able to see an opponent’s items, gadgets, and position helps inform when to attack or defend.
  • Ways to compete: Rival Duel offers offline races against CPU opponents; Free Match pairs players online; Friend Match lets friends race each other; and Best-of-10 takes the form of limited-time events.
  • Grand Master Plate and 15 new gadgets: These expand the possibilities for gadget combinations, with a seventh Super Slot that further strengthens the effect of any one-slot gadget placed in it.
  • Additional CPU opponents: Free and paid DLC characters introduced after the game’s launch can appear as opponents in online and offline modes.

For experienced racers, these changes could offer more lasting appeal than a crossover alone. With just two racers on the track, attention shifts to a single rival, while the new gadget options provide further incentive to experiment with different approaches.

Limited-time activities will keep the competition going throughout the month:

  • Godzilla Festival: November 5–15.
  • Duel Match “Best-of-10”: November 12–15.
  • McLaren Racing Festival: November 19–29.
  • Year Two Commemorative Login Campaign: Offers up to 12 decals to collect and use to decorate vehicles.

November’s events are only the beginning of the Year Two journey for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The roadmap extends into 2027, with more new faces and collaborations waiting ahead. For this month alone, the combination of fresh arrivals and gameplay changes makes a compelling case for returning to the track.
