Skull and Bones' new beta event starts next week

Skull and Bones is Ubisoft's take on the pirates genre and its development has been like a trip on a rollercoaster. Years after it was announced, the developer totally changed the game to turn it into a completely different type of experience. After the final design was decided, the game went through a long process until we finally could watch some footage of it last year. Some players were even lucky enough to give it a try during a beta event. If you missed the opportunity to participate in the last beta but you have been following the game, you should check your email to find out if you have received an invitation for the new Skull and Bones beta that will take place next week.

Not invited yet? Don't worry

You may not have been selected to participate in the beta, but if a friend of yours has managed to get into the event, they will be able to invite two other people. Make sure that you are one of them if you want to give the game a try ahead of release. The upcoming Skull and Bones closed beta will run from August 25 to August 28, exclusively on PC. Remember that if you will participate, your computer still needs to meet the system requirements that you can check below.

Recommended requirements (1080p at 60 frames per second)

• Operating system: Windows 10 / Windows 11
• Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, or better
• RAM: 8 GB (running dual-channel mode)
• Video card: NVIDIA RTX 2070 (8 GB), AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB), or better
• Hard drive: 65 GB available storage (SSD recommended)

• Operating system: Windows 10
• Processor: Intel Core i7-4790, AMD Ryzen 5 1600, or better
• RAM: 8 GB (running dual-channel mode)
• Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB), AMD Radeon RX 570 (8 GB), or better
• Hard drive: 65 GB available storage (SSD recommended)

During the Skull and Bones closed beta you will be able to explore the coast of Africa, take on contracts, and build up your reputation as a pirate. Also, there are several special rewards that you can unlock during the event and you can freely stream any content from the beta if you want to.
