Star Wars Jedi will become a trilogy

The success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is reason enough to see the return of Cal Kestis in a new adventure. Since the second game was released there were rumors about the series becoming a trilogy. Now we have the official confirmation, which has arrived from a rather unexpected source. During a recent Comic Con in Okala, Florida, Cameron Monaghan, the actor who plays Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi games, confirmed that there is a third game in development right now.

"We're working on the third, we're in the process of doing that right now. So that's a big undertaking and it's been some conversations so far, but hopefully, when all things are said and done we'll be able to go in and make something really cool for you guys again."

Monaghan's words confirm that there is a new Star Wars Jedi game on the way and that it will star Cal Kestis once more as the protagonist. The story didn't come to an end in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and we will see the old Jedi Padawan who is now a fully-fledged Jedi Knight in a new adventure that will probably pit him against the forces of the Galactic Empire and the Inquisition once more.

A new evolution of the character?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor showcased an evolution of the character in terms of Jedi powers and combat mechanics. It will be very interesting to see if Respawn Entertainment opts for a similar approach to the character in the new game, maybe turning Cal Kestis into a powerful Jedi Master. In any case, we do know that the project will be directed by someone different since Stig Asmussen left the studio not too long ago.
