STARBITES: Mecha Battles Across Planet Bitter’s Dead Desert

STARBITES: A Mecha Journey Across the Planet Bitter

Are you ready for a turn-based RPG tactical game like you’ve never seen before? Do you want to learn about the mysteries of unusual phenomena, transformed machines, and the aggression of AI on the planet "Bitter"? If you are curious, then why hesitate? Experience STARBITES right now.

Explore an enchanting post-apocalyptic world through the eyes of Lukida

The game is developed by IKINAGAMES (famous for titles such as WitchSpring3 Re: Fine—The Story of Eirudy or Telebbit) and will be published by NIS America, Inc. on the upcoming date of May 21, 2026.

STARBITES is set on the planet "Bitter," a place once heavily devastated by cosmic wars that has now become a giant desert. Players will take on the role of Lukida, a young girl who makes a living scavenging parts and treasures from war ruins in Delight City—a unique tower-shaped city where people trade resources to survive. This place is gradually being buried by sand, and it hides many secret areas waiting to be unlocked.

Lukida's life changes completely after meeting "Oracle," who leads her to join comrades like Gwen-Dol (a kind-hearted heavy drinker) and Badger (a calm engineer). Together, they will discover the mysteries behind the abnormal phenomena, the transformed machines, and the aggressive AI on the planet.

The game features turn-based combat, but with a twist. It features a special mechanic called "Drivers High" (DH). When the DH bar is full (charged by attacking or taking damage), players can activate it to act immediately, breaking the normal turn order.

Not only that, the game features both Mecha customization and squad-building systems tailored to the player's wishes. The Mecha customization system is quite straightforward: players can collect items from battles or world exploration to upgrade their Mecha, changing weapons, armor, engines, and cores to optimize power.

This mechanism is also closely linked to the squad-building mechanic. To optimize the lineup, players must choose a team that fits their Mecha customizations. Players will form a tactical group including direct combat members and support members, where each companion character possesses their own Mecha with unique abilities.

With a 3D anime-style graphic direction, vibrant colors, and detailed Mecha designs, STARBITES will certainly not disappoint players. The game supports interface and subtitles in English, Korean, Japanese, and French (with full voice acting in English, Korean, and Japanese). I’m all about motorcycles, retro gaming, and the golden handheld era of the PSP and PS Vita. I love the thrill of the ride just as much as the nostalgia of classic games. I believe games can bring people together, spark creativity, and make the world a little brighter—one adventure at a time.
