The Binding of Isaac: Repentance gets a release date
Even though there are some people that do not like the aesthetic of the graphics in The Binding of Isaac, the frenetic gameplay of the roguelike top-down dungeon crawler game has made it quite popular since it was released in 2011 on PC. The success of the game was high enough to make the developers create a remake with a more advanced game engine and new features, and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth was released on several platforms in 2014. The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth added more content to Rebirth sometime later, including an expanded multiplayer mode, taking the license to its current state. But the story of The Binding of Isaac does not stop there, and a new expansion with the name of The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is on the way.
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance has been in the works for a while and it promises to be really huge and it will give the fans of the original game a reason to come back to their favorite game. Developer Edmund McMillen has just announced its release date through a new video:
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will expand the content in the original game with new rooms to explore, challenging bosses to fight, and quite a few surprises, taking the gameplay to a new level. New items, weapons, and unholy creatures will be waiting for you in the expansion, including "a full alternate path with brand new chapters and a new final boss and ending". It's worth noting that since The Binding of Isaac allows you to explore procedurally-generated dungeons, the addition of new elements increases the possibilities that the game offers exponentially. If it already took quite long to discover everything in the game, with The Binding of Isaac: Repentance it's going to be even more of a challenging task. The expansion is coming to Steam on March 31st and it will probably launch on other platforms later.
