This time the Total War franchise, although inspired by Homer's Iliad, takes you back to the Bronze Age with historical accuracy. A Total War Saga: Troy brings Greeks, Trojans and their allies against each other as they fight over the legendary city. Although the game is still grounded in history gods, heroes and monsters will be present. You will be able to recruit a minotaur to serve as a hero while conquering a specific region will give you access to centaurs. The minotaur is just a big warrior wearing a bull's skull and wielding a massive axe. The centaurs, meanwhile, are just regular humans on horseback, though that does make them pretty special in a game where there are almost no cavalry units and they can be used in lighting quick counterattacks or to harass the enemy. As usual, you start small and need to use diplomacy, trade, and conquest to expand. You can't just gather your troops and go after Paris and Helena, you first have to convince your allies to lend you the help you need, whether by diplomacy or by force, before sailing off to conquer Troy. Honoring the gods by building temples or winning battles, will give you rewards, or it could screw up the relationship your enemies have with the gods. Of course, you need all the heroes you can find on the way, as Troy is not an easy target to conquer. You will also recruit agents that will help you in several ways. Although they are not as powerful as heroes, spies and priests will prove to be a valuable asset with their ability to gather information and influence enemy cities and to grant you the favor of the gods.
