    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I completely customize the look of all the buildings in my town, even those initially placed by the game?
Yes, you can eventually redesign every structure, including the town hall and the villagers' homes, with custom designs and furniture.
Does the terraforming tool allow me to create complex cave systems or underground areas?
While you can lower the ground, the terraforming is primarily for surface adjustments; deep cave systems are not a core feature.
How intricate can my custom-designed furniture be, and are there limits to the size or complexity?
You can design highly detailed furniture, utilizing various shapes, colors, and patterns. However, there are grid-based limitations and a design layer cap to prevent performance issues.
Can I share my custom designs with other players, or are they exclusively for my personal island?
Yes, the game features a design-sharing system where you can upload and download designs for furniture, clothing, and other decorative items.
Is there a robust farming system with a wide variety of crops and seasonal changes influencing growth?
Farming is present but more streamlined. You plant seeds, water them, and harvest. Seasons influence the availability of resources, but crops don't have detailed growth stages.
How much control do I have over the placement and behavior of the villagers in my town?
You can't directly control villagers' daily routines. However, you can influence their surroundings and town appearance, which impacts their interaction with the environment.
Are there any combat or action-oriented gameplay elements, or is it purely a relaxing crafting and decorating experience?
Hokko Life is primarily a peaceful experience focused on crafting, decorating, farming, fishing, and socializing with villagers, without any combat.
Can I significantly alter the landscape with rivers, waterfalls, and other water features?
Yes, the terraforming tool includes the ability to create water features, allowing for lakes, ponds, and even waterfalls, albeit within the game's terrain limitations.
Does the game offer different gameplay modes or difficulties, or is it a consistent, open-ended experience?
Hokko Life offers a consistent open-ended experience. The focus is on player creativity and town development without specific difficulty settings.
Is there a strong narrative or storyline driving the gameplay, or is it more sandbox-oriented?
The game is sandbox-oriented. The story is driven by the player's choices and town development, with villager interactions forming the primary narrative.
