The best thing that has happened to Diablo 4 since its launch, Blizzard did great with this update. Great expansion (although short), with new classes, areas and mechanics.

On Steam, Lord of Hatred has received mixed reviews (65-70% positive). Players like the new classes, the improved gameplay and the more memorable campaign. On the other hand, many criticize the launch bugs, technical issues and still-perfect endgame. All in all, it's a solid expansion, but one that still divides the community. But already much better than Vessel of Hatred.

This DLC is pretty average. On the one hand, the atmosphere is as good as ever, dark and immersive, with some really cool areas to explore and good art direction. But behind that, I find it hard to ignore the lack of new gameplay. The additions are nice without being revolutionary, and after a few hours, I had a feeling of déjà-vu. What's even more disappointing is the price. Honestly, I find it too high for the content on offer. I'd have expected more depth or real new mechanics. It's still fun to play if you're a fan, but it's hard to say it's really worth the price.

The storyline is clearly more successful in Lord of Hatred than in Vessel of Hatred, with a story centered on Mephisto and Neyrelle that's darker and better-paced, even if a few long stretches remain. The new region, Skovos, brings a real sense of renewal with its mystical atmosphere and varied landscapes, making exploration more enjoyable and less monotonous than in the base game. Finally, new classes such as the Paladin and the Demonist are a real success, offering different play styles and encouraging experimentation with new builds. All in all, these additions clearly enhance the immersion and enjoyment of the game.

I was really looking forward to Lord of Heatred and it's a real turning point for the game, both in terms of gameplay and possibilities and in terms of storytelling. Builds are finally going to change a bit with the total reworking of the skill tree, because we've been going in circles for a few seasons now.
