Two Funcom Survival Games Are Heading to PS5

Two different survival worlds are heading to PlayStation 5 in early 2027. Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced will give console players a choice between building a home among floating islands and returning to the harsh Exiled Lands with upgraded visuals and interface features. 

Funcom announced the plans on October 27, 2026, but has not confirmed exact release dates for either game. Early 2027 is the only announced launch window. Aloft is set to arrive with its complete 1.0 experience, while Conan Exiles Enhanced updates the existing survival game for current-generation consoles.

Aloft brings its complete skybound adventure to PS5

Developed by Astrolabe Interactive and published on consoles by Funcom, Aloft is a co-op survival sandbox built around an idea: floating islands can become flying ships. Players can establish homes in the sky, explore a colorful world, and play alone or with friends.

The PS5 release is planned to include the updates introduced during the PC Early Access period as well as the game’s 1.0 content. Console players should therefore receive the expanded launch experience rather than an earlier version. Early Access updates have added wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization and more areas to explore. Players can also uncover lost knowledge, treat fungal corruption, care for animals and restore ecosystems after severe weather, including hurricanes.

Conan Exiles Enhanced upgrades the Exiled Lands

Conan Exiles Enhanced takes a different approach. Rather than introducing a new world, it refreshes the open-world survival experience with visual and usability improvements. Funcom says the Enhanced edition will improve environments, characters, lighting and effects. It will also introduce a redesigned user interface, performance enhancements and quality-of-life changes intended to improve survival, building and exploration on current-generation hardware.

The release will include the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc, centred on the ancient Giant-Kings, their forgotten history and challenges tied to their legacy. The Isle of Siptah expansion will remain a separate purchase, although the updated edition is intended to make travel between the Exiled Lands and the island expansion feel more integrated.

A Free PS5 Upgrade for Conan Exiles Players

Existing Conan Exiles owners on PlayStation will be eligible for a free upgrade to the PS5 Enhanced version. Funcom has also announced an Enhanced release for Xbox Series X|S, with existing Xbox One owners receiving a free upgrade. Purchasing the PS4 or PS5 version will grant access to the other version. Previously purchased Bazaar items and DLC will carry over. The Isle of Siptah expansion is not included automatically and must still be purchased separately.

Funcom has also said that full cross-play is planned for Conan Exiles Enhanced shortly after launch. It is not described as a day-one feature, so players should wait for further details about supported platforms and timing.
