Elden Ring has sold over 25 million copies worldwide

Elden Ring is a true masterpiece and one of the most popular Souls-like games ever created. There is no doubt about that. Its high difficulty, unique scenarios, and top combat system make it a true jewel that should be in all video game libraries. The upcoming release of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will make it even bigger and better with the addition of new weapons, bosses, and a whole new area to explore, the Lands of Shadow. The expectation around the expansion's release is quite high and it will surely boost the impressive numbers that Elden Ring has achieved already.

A colossal milestone

It's not easy for a game to sell over 25 million copies worldwide, but Elden Ring has achieved it barely a week before the official release date of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The number is impressive even for a game that has been available to play for over two years. It also proves that the Souls-like genre is as popular as ever, especially when it's games coming from the creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. The level of quality of FromSoftware's creations stands out above many others, and their extreme difficulty has become a trademark of the studio.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be the perfect addition to the original game and it will surely draw the attention of many players. However, it may not be accessible to all players who own the game at the start. To access the content in the expansion you have to achieve a certain first first. In order to visit the Lands of Shadow you have to defeat Starscourge Radahn at Redmane Castle and Mohg, Lord of Blood at Mohgwyn Palace, and that's something that many Elden Ring players still have to do. Therefore, make sure to put some effort into defeating them if you want to explore the content in the new expansion as soon as it's released.
