Final Fantasy VII Rebirth officially launches after 4 years of waiting

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a action role-playing game (Action RPG) developed and published by Square Enix. This is the sequel to the game Final Fantasy VII Remake released in 2020 and is the second part of the three-part Remake project of Final Fantasy VII. After 4 years of waiting, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth finally launched on February 29, 2024. And it has received a lot of positive feedback.

Like its predecessor, the gameplay of Rebirth combines real-time action with strategic and role-playing elements. Set immediately after Remake's events, players control mercenary Cloud Strife and a party of characters principally comprising the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, who embark on a journey across the Planet to prevent the megacorporation Shinra from exploiting its life essence, the Lifestream, as an energy source, and defeat former elite SOLDIER Sephiroth, who seeks to unite with the Planet to achieve greater power.

For those who haven't played the previous Remake version, there's no need to worry. According to creative director Tetsuya Nomura's message on Twitter, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is designed so that new players can understand the story without playing through the previous version. Tetsuya Nomura also revealed that the third remake is also in progress. 

Additionally, if players wish to try out the game before deciding, they can play the free demo on the PlayStation Store. The demo, titled 'The Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim,' allows players to experience the opening chapter of the game's storyline and the Junon area, where players can freely explore the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. After playing through this demo, players will be able to skip this story segment in the full version of the game.
